The Kings

This band is about as Canadian as Tim Hortons Coffee or a Saturday Night Hockey Game ..they are mentioned in the same breath as Bryan Adams and BTO.

They began in the late 1970’s endlessly rehearsing to get it just right and doing back to back gigs in nightclubs across Canada. They paid their dues and then some.

The Kings originally featured vocalist bassist Dave Diamond ,keyboard player Sonny Keyes drummer Max Styles and guitarist Mister Zero.

“The Beat Goes On-Switchin To Glide” is one of the most recognised classic rock songs of all time and sat on the Billboard Hot 100 for 6 months!

It was picked one of the Top 100 U.S. Radio Programmers Picks For The Decade by Album Network Magazine.

The Pink Floyd Producer Bob Ezrin  worked on the Kings Are Here Album in 1980 and following an appearance on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand The Kings never looked back with sales reaching platinum status.
